Carey Price wasn’t supposed to stat on Tuesday for the Montreal Canadiens.
Al Montoya was supposed to get the start, but an injury at morning skate altered plans and Price was forced into duty in a 4-1 win against the Dallas Stars.
And Price came as advertised.
He stopped 26 shots and continued to show off his incredible poise under pressure. The only goal to beat him was a weird bounce off the end boards that went right back to Curtis McKenzie.
On the other end Kari Lehtonen was good and mades 32 saves in the loss. But it wasn’t enough to unseat Price in a game that was originally billed as the Benn vs. Benn matchup.
Benn vs. Benn
It was the main talking point throughout the broadcast and for the first time in their lives Jordie and Jamie Benn played against each other.
The brothers didn’t have much ice time against each other, but Jordie Benn was on the ice for a penalty kill against Jamie Benn late in the third period.
