Kari Lehtonen and his father-in-law must have a great relationship.
Lehtonen made a season-high 42 saves in the Dallas Stars 4-2 win against the Washington Capitals on Monday.
This came two nights after Lehtonen made a then season-high 41 saves in a 2-1 win against the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
Both games came with Lehtonen’s father-in-law, Steve Schutter, in attendance. Schutter is joining Lehtonen on the father’s and mentor’s trip, where the Stars won both games.
The win helped Dallas end a 15-game home win streak for Washington and the Stars have not lost in Washington since the 2006 season.
