The Dallas Stars lost their second preseason game 5-1 to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
Roope Hintz scored the Stars lone goal during a 5-on-3 power play in the third period.
After using a more veteran lineup on Tuesday the Stars had a lineup filled with AHL players and fringe NHLers on Thursday. On the other side the Avalanche used pretty close to an NHL lineup in front of their home crowd.
Kari Lehtonen got his first start of the preseason and had a tough start, allowing a goal on the first three shots, but recovered a bit and later stopped a penalty shot in the second period. He finished with 16 saves on 20 shots.
Landon Bow played the third period and made seven saves on eight shots.
Semyon Varlamov made 21 saves for Colorado.
Like other preseason games it was filled with penalties. The Stars went 1-for-6 on the power play while Colorado while 2-for-9 with the man advantage.
