FRISCO, Texas — Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn missed practice Monday and is day-to-day with a foot injury.
“Little bit of a tweak in my foot last game,” Benn said. “We’ll just take (it) day-by-day, we’ve got a couple days here (before the next game).”
The Stars host the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday at American Airlines Center.
Benn sustained the injury in the second period of a 3-1 loss to the Florida Panthers on Dec. 31. Benn went awkwardly into the boards and was slow to get up before Patrick Eaves scored on the power play with Benn in front of the net.
Benn didn’t miss a shift after a slow skate back to the bench. After the game Stars coach Lindy Ruff was worried it might not have been the right decision to keep his captain in the game.
“We’ll see what happens the next couple days here and hopefully be in Wednesday,” Benn said.
