The Idaho Steelheads, the Dallas Stars ECHL-affiliate, will play a pair of games this weekend in the DFW area when they visit the Allen Americans on tonight and Saturday.
While the game tonight goes head-to-head with the Stars’ game against the New York Islanders, you could attend Saturday’s game at the Allen Event Center for a nice back-to-back hockey weekend.
Personally I’m looking forward to watching a pair of Stars prospects and seeing how they’ve progressed since the last time I saw them on play back in September.
Defenseman Chris Martenet, a fourth-round pick in 2015, has battled back from illness and played seven games for Idaho this season. He doesn’t have a point yet, but the 6-foot-7, 216-pound defender has played a reliable shutdown game and impressed Steelheads coach Neil Graham.
Goalie Philippe Desrosiers has yet to lose in regulation in six starts this season. He is 4-0-1-1, has a 2.60 GAA and .903 SV%.
