The Dallas Stars survived a chaotic third period in a 6-4 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.
The teams traded five goals in a stretch of 5 minutes, 28 seconds in the third period.
Both starting goalies were pulled after the goal onslaught, which came to an end when Jiri Hudler scored his first goal as a Dallas Star at 7:44 of the period.
It was a game reminiscent of the 2015-16 Stars that led the NHL in scoring. It was chaotic, exciting, and a bit irresponsible.
The Stars were able to outscore their problems as Monday evening turned into Tuesday morning. Were there flaws? Yes. But the Stars aren’t looking for pretty wins right now, they are simply looking for wins — especially against a Kings team that is also in the heart of the playoff chase.
The Stars have a quick turnaround and play the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.
