The Dallas Stars avoided being mathematically being eliminated from the playoffs with a 2-1 win against the New Jersey Devils in overtime on Sunday.
Tyler Seguin scored 20 seconds into overtime on the power play. John Klingberg had the primary assist after a sharp pass from the point.
Theoretically the Stars could still make the playoffs. But that would require them to win the final seven games while the St. Louis Blues or Nashville Predators would also have to end the season on an eight-game losing streak.
